Preliminary Task Evaluation

What did you learn about the cameras and editing software during the preliminary task?

When filming angle composition is very important is very important for example when we was shooting Derick opening a door we had to make sure we timed him coming through the door
accurately to prevent us needing to spend more time than necessary on editing, when in the editing suit we was able to adjust camera cuts however this was not easy as we didn't have enough film needed we will take this into consideration when preparing to film our final piece.

In the filming and editing of your project, what worked well and what could have been improved?

Throughout the whole process of filing we made many mistakes which were then recognised in the editing stage this is due to not having experience or knowledge of how to filming the correct ways however whilst editing we learnt a lot about how to improve our work for the future for example we learnt that we must always film more than we need so that editing can be done smoothly and so that we never have the problem of having to re film most bits.

Give a detailed, specific example of how you have used a shot/ reverse shot combination in your film

we used shot reverse shot, we was able to uses this when filming Vundu and Derick in conversation, this worked effectively although we must take into consideration crossing the line, as this may be a problem.

Give a detailed, specific example of how you achieved match cuts during the editing process

When filming our first prinimalery task we didn't manage to put apply match cuts however we plan to use match cuts in out main task.

When filmingHow did you make sure that you didn't break the 180 degree rule? Or if you broke it, what have you learnt from this?

we broke the 180 degree rule as we weren't very familiar with how easy it was to break the 180 rule. when we watched the film back in the editing process we noticed that we had broken the rule and so we re-filmed that specific bit. we have learnt how to prevent this from happening when we take on our main task and we have also
learnt how important the 180 degree rule is.
